To be honest, this magic item is so powerful that it simultaneously increases both the number of spells that the Warlock can cast, as well as provide a wider variety of spells to the attuned Warlock. Killing enemies should refresh my temp hp throughout a fight, but if I find myself out of range (25 speed) or in a real pickle, I can still drop my action to get 5-8 temp hp again.This is a dream for any spellcaster and especially so for the Warlock. At will, so recast til I get 8 and enter every combat prepared. If you managed to get smacked down some, burning hands is sure to kill 1-2 goblins, triggering your temp hp shield to refresh.Īt level 2, I'm definitely planning on picking up the False Life at-will invocation. Temporary hp acts as a buffer to your already high AC. mooks like goblins, these spells will one shot them. The brilliance here is that both of those spells deals damage (save for half) automatically.

My spell selection at lvl 1 is Burning Hands and Hellish Rebuke. I thoroughly enjoy playing this character with pact of the fiend. Did you know a negative dex score can bring your AC down? lol I didn't as it was my first character with less than 10 haha. I'm playing this exact build (well my scores are slightly different.
